I was born and raised in Milwaukee, WI. The youngest of two daughters, to Faye and Wallace Cheatham. I have always been interested in cooking. I could open a small bookstore with the amount of cookbooks I have! However until recently I never thought about as a career, just a hobby.
I have pursued careers in the Christian record and retail industries. That led me to Nashville, TN. and Evanston IL. I also did a small turn as a banker.
Along the way, I became a vegetarian and then a vegan. Since starting culinary school, I would have to describe myself as a Part-time vegetarian.
It was not until a recent major emergency surgery, that I realized how unhappy I was with the lack of direction in my life. Luckily, the International Culinary School at the Art Institute was right down the road. It is still early days in my culinary career and I have learned so much already. But the most important lesson is that it is never to late to follow your passion!
